Longevity Tour Itinerary September 2018

Day #1.  Friday 21st of September

Meet your guide and transfer to San Benedetto fish and food market to enjoy a tour including tastings/lunch.

Later transfer to inner Sardinia. Stop at a local organic wine cellar for a guided tour and tasting of local wines.

Transfer to Orroli and visit the Nuraghe Arrubiu (“Red Nuraghe”)

Transfer to hotel Antichi Ovili, Orroli.

Day #2.  Saturday 22nd of September

Breakfast. Then morning transfer to an olive oil mill for a guided tour, extra virgin olive oil tasting and cooking workshop followed by lunch.

Later afternoon hike to the Giara wild park where you can also observe the endemic flora species and try to spot the gracious little wild horses.

Return to hotel for dinner and overnight at hotel (or possible dinner at local restaurant).

Day #3.  Sunday 23rd of September

Breakfast. Then visit to a flour grinding mill. Take a tour and shop for whole meal flour that we will use to make and bake bread with a local family. 

Lunch with the family. Visit other local families while they harvest or making wine (if available on those days) or visit the vineyards and enjoy a glass of wine with them. 

Leave the area and transfer to the Barbagia of Seulo with its unspoiled mountains. Dinner and overnight at the hotel Miramonti in Seulo

Day #4.  Monday 24th of September

Breakfast. 

Then spend a day with a goat shepherd. See how he attends the goats, hike with him and have a traditional roast lunch with him. 

Then afternoon visit to a centenarian.  

We then have “Centenarian dinner” at the hotel and overnight in Seulo.

Day #5.  Tuesday 25th of September

Breakfast.  Then we can offer two choices.

Half day hike in the mountains of Seulo with a local guide, lunch then transfer to Baunei for dinner and overnight. 

OR morning transfer to Santa Maria Navarrese with arrival in the afternoon. Maxi motor rubber dinghy excursion, time for swimming and sunbathing. Then transfer to Baunei for dinner and overnight at Hotel Bia Maore or similar (www.biamaore.it) 

Day #6. Wednesday 26th of September 

Breakfast.  

Then morning transfer to the Golgo Plateau and hike to the amazing beach of Cala Gloritzé which can be reached in approximately  two hours. Then spend the day in Gala Goloritzè one of the pearls of Sardinia coastline with packed lunch. 

Return to the Golgo. Take a shower in the nearby Agriturismo and enjoy a mouth-watering traditional dinner. Transfer back to the hotel for overnight. 
Day #7. Thursday 27th of September - Breakfast then transport to airport

During the trip, Guy & Dave will be exploring other aspects of health within the Sardinian wilderness including group breathing practises (an experience not to be missed), meditation and controlled cold exposure within the rivers.

Can I Hold My Spot Without A Deposit?
No. We will be taking applications on first come first served basis.  If you really don't want to miss out, we recommend you place your deposit as soon as possible. Due to interest already, we envisage this to sell out pretty quickly.
Payment Arrangements
We only take Visa or Mastercard. A 20% deposit of $578 must be placed by March 31st 2018 to secure your spot.  Additional 40% must be paid by May 31st and the remaining 40% must be paid by July 21st 2018. Once we have spoken to you personally, you will then be able to place the deposit. We  hold your payment details on file for the future processing of the remaining  payments upon you request. Note: You also have the option to pay the full amount upfront.
What's The Refund Policy?
The deposit and the full payment are non-refundable. If there is a waiting list and someone can take your place, then there will be a $50 admin fee to process your refund. We HIGHLY recommend you take out travel insurance and Trip Cancellation Insurance that provides for extenuating circumstances happening before an event such as accidents or illness. This will also cover flights etc.
What About Dietary Requirements?
We will not be catering for special dietary requirements as we will be eating the way the Sardinians and Blue Zone centenarians have eaten for hundreds of years.
What Should My Physical Capabilities Be?
Activities will include hiking,  climbing, swimming in remote areas. A moderate fitness will be needed. If you are unsure just contact us and we can discuss if it's right for you. On some days, expect to do some physical hikes of 3-6 hours long.
What's The Accomodation Like?
Many of the places we are staying at will be in remote areas of Sardinia and there is a large group of us. We won't be staying at 5 Star resorts. In saying that, they will be traditional, comfortable and clean.
Do I Have A Room To Myself Or Do I Share?
As there is a large group of us and we are in more remote areas, there are limited rooms. Most, if not all rooms will occupy at least two people. We will do our best but we are at the mercy of the hotels. Expect couples to have a room and if you're traveling solo you will be sharing a room.
