Hi, I’m Guy Lawrence and this is a little technique that I use to make decisions when I’m feeling a little bit stuck or indecisive.
Now there’s a saying, the brain thinks but the heart knows, and I’m all for one these days of trusting more my heart not my head. But obviously that can take courage, because sometimes the heart that knows might give us answers that we don’t want to hear, or don’t want to look at.
There’s a company called the HeartMath Institute that have been studying the heart for over 20 years. And what they actually discovered as well within the heart, there’s brain like cells and they’re called sensory neurites and there’s over 40000 of them. So in other words, it’s the little brain and it has it’s own intelligence as well.
Don’t you ever get that feeling that you just sometimes know when you’ve got to trust that process going forward? So what I do now, is when I’m faced with a decision and I’m focused without trying to overthink it, without doing anything and just trying to let the subconscious and that knowing that’s come with me, I will literally put my fingers on my chest. I will close my eyes, and I’ll bring up all my weariness to that heart, to that second brain, the little brain, and ask the question. And instantly I will get an answer, it just knows. And it’s being able to trust that feeling, not that thought, that feeling that comes up. And then I act upon it, and it’s never let me down once. Never ever ever.
But here’s the caveat, quite often when you do that and you ask the question and it knows, you might get an answer that you don’t want to hear, but it’s the right answer. So it helps moves us towards our own truth, and then we start acting upon it.
So the next time you’re faced with a decision, try that. But your weariness on your heart, ask the question and see what feeling comes up instantly, and act upon it, and see how it turns out.
